The Chow Tai Fok Finance Centre (CTF Finance Centre), known as the East Tower, a monumental skyscraper 530m tall spreading across 27,000m2, humbly stands in Zhujiang New Town of the Guangzhou CBD. A RMB10 billion investment, stretching the landscape of architecture and function to a new level, encompasses a class A office, a shopping mall, a luxury service apartment, and the Rosewood hotel in a hub.

Inside this skyscraper on the top 39 floors houses the Rosewood hotel in a neighborhood of historic and must-see tourist hot spots. A riot of Southern Chinese and Western Contemporary instilled into the design of interior and show kitchens refreshingly works to the coherent of Rosewood classic.

From the ground zero of the Sesame, a patisserie and grab-and-go deli, to the Lingnan House of a Chinese restaurant (L5), the Brick Lane on L6, an outdoor terrace with the bar then to the L95 of the Patina, all-day dining, the Black Iron bar on L107 and finally up to the rooftop of L108, Mini ballroom, and bar, a thorough collaboration between the kitchen contractor, the joinery and other trades should take most of the credits for turning all these F&B outlets quintessential.

The core of the structure is inherently getting smaller as it goes up, that being said less space is available for temporary site storage and vertical transportation prone to chaos, let alone the queueing time for the wait of temporary service elevator amid cross-construction between trades. Thankfully the success of moving heavy and bulky kitchen equipment to the rooftop on time took a lot of pressure off the critical path.

A number of custom cooking equipment, like the double insulated duck oven crafted in a palette of bronze and stainless steel finish for the Chinese Restaurant, and the custom one-piece worktop cooking suites from Italy in various outlets, notably bleed into the interior in a delightful and surprising way. Due to limited site access and challenging vertical transportation, the cooking suites came in breakdown components and were put together with the worktop welded seamlessly by an Italian Alchemist from the factory.

Anchored in the same design focus as the interior, all the refrigeration and their finish are painstakingly designed and manufactured to meet the expectations. A full-height wine cellar next to the Chinese PDR is one of a kind. Last but not least, the ease of maintenance was also factored into the equation of all the equipment design.
